Stop-Loss - the involuntary extension of a service member’s enlistment contract in order to retain them beyond the normal end term of service (ETS) or the ceasing of a permanent change of station (PCS) move for a member still in military service.

Stop-Loss - a 2008 American drama film, directed by Kimberly Peirce. Starring Ryan Phillippe, Channing Tatum (Step Up), Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Timothy Olyphant (Hitman). After doing their time in Iraq, soldiers are caught in the Stop-Loss program and forced to go back to war. Quite an emotional movie, meant to draw attention upon this practice. Out of more than 600.000 soldiers sent to Iraq, more than 80.000 have been stop-lossed, by presidential order.

I find this practice a big bullshit!

The movie is definitely worth watching!

Casse Toi, Pouvre Con!

I am absolutely amazed at how things go with politics and what uneducated persons get to become rulers of great powers of the world! If there’s something the French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, is not, then this is a DIPLOMAT. I thought Bush is the only monument of stupidity in this regard, but it seems that Monssieur France here is trying to beat every record ever established by a president. Apart from his personal life (fine, it is his business and his business only whom he wants to shag, it is up to him to carry the embarrassing act of buying both ex-wife and current lover the same engagement ring, it is his business which president’s pen he steals) this a**hole dares to address verbal insults to the common people, the very persons whom he works for!

At a recent event that took place in France, the inauguration of an agricultural salon, while trying to reach for the hand of a visitor, Sarkozy was rejected with a “Don’t touch me, you make me sick!” from the previous. Instead of replying like a true gentleman, like a true president, like a true diplomat, what did Mr. Sarkozy tell the visitor? We quote: “Casse-toi alors, pouvre con!” (translated “Then get lost, you stupid bastard!”)

What can I say….his face says it all, if you ask me. What were the French drinking while the elections took place?

La mai mare, domnu’!

“Bonjour, merci, oui, merci, aye?! Bonjour, bonsoir, mais merci!”
