For all those like myself, who try to paint their nails and never get them as they want, here are a couple of tips, which, incidentally, I too am going to benefit much from…

You can adjust the shape of your nails with the right cut. When we see the beautiful nails of celebrities we want ours to look the same, but what we do not know is that nails are different, they vary in shape and size. So Eva Longoria’s nails might look crappy on my hands. Get me? Therefore:

  • * With short, wide nails, the edges should be smooth and you should never let skin grow (as this is going to hurt you when you remove it); also, the shape of the nail should be slightly oval.
  • * With elongated nails, in almonds, the cut line is respecting the form of the angle which narrow oval.
  • * With the triangular nails, they must respect the narrow edge, not smooth the edges, because the latter accentuates the triangular shape.
  • * With the long rectangular nails, the cut should be straight, without hastening the edges, but following a line perpendicular to the finger.
  • * And with the round nails, an oval cut is leaving the nail to grow a little edge in order to increase its length.

For painted nails, the base should be a toner, under a transparent glaze, to protect the nails and fix the lacquer. Here are other things you should pay attention to:

  • * The lacquer helps nail polish to dry faster.
  • * The essential oils, some soaps and creams may obscure and overshadow the tone of nail polish in some cases, depending on everyone’s PH.
  • * The long hot baths are not good for nails.
  • * The nail polish should not be dried in the sun since it leads to being lifted immediately, not to mention that the base turns yellow.
  • * Do not apply nail lacquer just before or after bathing because moisture, such as fat, prevents its grip.
  • * For the nail polish to dry instantly, move the fingers by the cold water faucet a few minutes after application.
  • * If it goes beyond the color of the skin, use a cotton stick impregnated with enamel to wash the extra off.

The choice of the tone of the nails is a matter of taste.

  • * The range of beige, Milky Way and all whites are in perfect harmony with white fur.
  • * The pale pink is perfect for dark skins.
  • * The transparent nail polishes are beautiful, but you have to have flawless nails to apply those, if not, it is better to choose the Milky Way.
  • * The roses stand out from slightly brown fur.
  • * The sparkle ones must be used with care because they can draw much attention.
  • * The shades of plum should be put on short nails and white fur.
  • * The very dark tones should go on short nails and best on light skin.
  • * The black, a marginal color in the nail enamel, should be reserved for very special moments.

Hope some of you ladies find these pieces of information useful. As for me, I’m sticking to my transparent lacquer because it makes my nails look natural and I never have to worry about my nails looking nasty because the nail polish chopped or something!
