I mean… it was about time some thought to award Antonio for his career. You have to agree he did a very good job in a lot of his roles!

The Spanish actor who immigrated to Hollywood a long time ago, Antonio Banderas, was honored on Friday at San Sebastian (north) by an honorary prize – “Donostia” – for his career, which was submitted by Pedro Almodovar, the film director that launched his career twenty years ago.

“Antonio Banderas’ career began in 1982, in the Labyrinth of Passion, and has since continued to grow in the entertainment”, said Almodovar, shortly before handing over the price.

“Since the beginning I had the certainty that this young man from Malaga (Andalusia) was made for the camera,” added the director, who got Banderas in five of his films.

“He owns pair of buttocks for all women around the world,” joked Almodovar.

“I understand why they give me this award, because at some point in my life, I brought my grain of sand to break down walls that previously seemed indestructible,” said Antonio Banderas after receiving his award , referring to his first steps in Hollywood, where no Spanish actor had previously drilled.

Aw, Anto, you really deserved this award. Congratulations!

Antonio is somewhat a non-typical male celebrity… he’s gorgeous, but he’s not stupid. He’s funny, but not ridiculous, and wehn it comes to romance…oh, my god… I shall not continue! I love him and I’m glad his work is being appreciated… eventually :D

@ Leelee: it’s called Latino! ;)
He used to be so hot in those Desperado movies…mmm…good actor overall.

Desperado is nothing! Haven’t you seen Original Sin ?

Well, yeah, young-Banderas obsessed fan here…I’ve seen them all. :D (…pssst…who said that?!)
