Recover the Lost Knowledge
Very impressed by this movie! I thought Scarlett Johanson would play the evil sister part, because she’s considered a bad sheep of Hollywood (relationships strictly considering, she had all the good men, women at Hollywood simply hate her!), I thought Natalie Portman would play the good sister part, because she never seems to make a stir. Eric Bana looks great, as usual. He embodies Henry Tudor, the King of England (Henry the VIII).
Historically speaking, the movie is not that factual, but the story makes it worth watching. I particularly enjoy how the director depicts the codes of an age, a Golden Age, diligently rendering the status of the woman, the status of the Queen and King, the status of the heir and so on and so forth. How men decide to pervert their families in order to go up in the hierarchy, how women would do anything to stick to that bounding code, even commit incest, how love and power destroy souls and lives. I recommend it to everyone. Enjoy the trailer until you visit the theaters!

I’m not a fan of Scarlett either, but this movie seems to be interesting. Speaking of Scarlett, I know she might not be a likable person, but she’s a good actress. We must give Caesar what’s Caesar’s.

Good movie, good actors/acting. Interesting role for Portman, but I gotta say she was my favorite. (Santa Johanson…for cryin’ out loud!) And…historical or not, thank God there were no men around me during the movie…the whole man in-charge of my a$$ cr@p.

Veeery nice, I liked it a lot. Sort of sad, but it renders the essence of that period very well. It’s tough to be a woman after all!
