Justin (what I think Leevette meant also)- I do not think the ppl who opposed Prop 8 meant to take away another human being’s rights. That is not why it happened…it happened because these ppl believe marriage should be just between a man and a woman (be it based on upbringing, religion, etc)
…which doesn’t mean they are necessarily against homosexuality (I do not think?!)

I have read that article and I am amazed at how people give themselves the right to do certain things. I was amazed that in Oregon people suffering from terminal illnesses are allowed to be given lethal medication. Oh, my God! And the law is called “Death with Dignity”??? I would rather say “Hell with Dignity”! And the abortion laws… I shall go no further!

I’m sorry… Justin… Nobody is banning your rights, everybody is PROTECTING their rights and they’re just expressing their opinions. If I think the world is better without Prop 8 being approved, I will vote it to be banned. If I was raised in a certain manner and I do not agree with things like these, you don’t have the right to force me to think other way. I tolerate, but I don’t offer rights!

Unfortunately, banning Prop 8 also means banning human rights so that’s why the controversy! Who gives you the right to ban my rights as a human being?
