I’ve had this problem lately, I can’t sleep very well and when I manage to get a good sleep, I wake up in the middle of the night and..well…you know the rest. So I’ve thought about what the reasons could be and what I can do to deal with the situation. This is what I came up with:
- Avoid complicated and unpleasant discussions before going to sleep. Otherwise you will have what to think about and you won’t catch any sleep. Try to relax!
- Have an easy meal at dinner, but by no means are you to pass it. If you go to sleep on an empty stomach there’s a great possibility that your sleep is disturbed by hypoglycemia. Your body needs nutrients, ok? Offer it sufficient, but not too much!
- How about having dinner at least one hour before actually going to bed? I’m doing this mistake, I often go to bed with a snack and eat while I’m reading a book and go asleep. Wrong! Your stomach should have time to process that food.
